The aim of this workshop is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace. It is suitable for trainers and assessors, particularly those working for Registered Training Organisations and those who are undertaking the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The course may also be useful for others who are responsible for training others in the workplace, including managers, supervisors and training consultants.

The workshop duration is 2 days.

What is the cost?

$600 per person.
This price is for public workshops delivered in our Perth training centre. Special rates can be negotiated with clients for group-based programs delivered exclusively for their personnel.

Where are the training locations?

Our public workshops are located in Perth at our training centre. We can also offer in-house client specific training overseas, throughout regional Australia as well as all capital cities including Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.

Are there any course pre-requisites?

No qualifications or previous experience in training and assessment are necessary to participate in this workshop. However, a relatively high level of reading and writing ability is required, as well as computer skills (internet research and word processing).

TAEDEL402 – Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace

This unit contributes to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

What topics and activities are included?

Throughout the course, participants will be required to undertake a case study which involves planning, organising and facilitating workplace learning.  Participants will also be required to participate in meeting with other learners to facilitate workplace learning facilitation.

Day 1

  • Program introduction and overview
  • Introduction to workplace learning
  • How people learn
  • Developing a workplace learning plan

Day 2

  • Developing a workplace learning plan (continued)
  • Facilitating learning in the workplace
  • Closing and evaluating the workplace learning

Is there any pre-course work?

There is no pre-course work for this module.

What about homework and assessment requirements?

Participants may find it necessary to complete some work at home after the first day of the course, in preparation for the following day.

Activities to be completed during the training:

  • Short answer questions
  • Workplace learning case study and simulated meetings

Activities to be completed after the training

  • Workplace learning project x 2 (plan, organise and facilitate workplace learning for an individual over a period of time)
  • Written questions

Resource requirements

To complete the assessment for this course, you will need to have access to at least two people for whom you can plan and facilitate separate work-based learning pathways, each involving 8 hours or more of coaching / supervised learning.
