Health and Safety Refresher Course
Overview
This course has been developed for health and safety representatives who have previously completed a five-day introductory training for Health and Safety Representative Course approved by WorkSafe. The course has been designed to refresh participants’ knowledge of the key functions they are expected to perform as a workplace safety and health representative.
Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 – Health and Safety Representatives are entitled to attend a 1 day refresher each year commencing 12 months after they attended the initial training.

The workshop duration is 1 days.
What is the cost?
$330 per person. (including GST) – Mt Lawley (1 Day)
$330 per person (including GST) – ECU Joondalup / Mt Lawley Campus (1 Day)
The price is for our public workshops in our Perth office. Special rates can be negotiated for programs conducted by Training Services Australia on behalf of our clients, exclusively for their personnel.
Where are the training locations?
Our public workshops are located in Perth at our training centre. We can also offer in-house client specific training overseas, throughout regional Australia as well as all capital cities including Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra.

Are there any course pre-requisites?
No qualifications are necessary to participate in this course, however participants should have previously attended a five-day introductory training course approved by WorkSafe.
Participants also need to have sufficient language and literacy skills to:
- Read and understand legislation, standards and codes of practice
- Consult effectively with others on workplace safety and health matters
Which unit(s) are covered?
Please note that this course is not classified as ‘nationally recognised’ training under the VET Quality Framework.

- Incident investigation
- Issue resolution procedures
- Contributing to issue resolution
- Provisional improvement notices (PINs)
Is there any pre-course work?
No qualifications are necessary to participate in this course, however participants should have previously attended a five-day introductory training course approved by WorkSafe.

What about homework and assessment requirements?
There is no formal assessment for this course, although participants are required to attempt on-course questions and activities to reinforce the skills and knowledge covered on the course.
