Health and Safety Representative Refresher Course
About the course
This one-day refresher course is designed for Health and Safety Representatives who have previously completed a five-day introductory training course approved by WorkSafe WA. It refreshes participants’ knowledge of the key functions and responsibilities of an HSR under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA).
Duration: One day
Delivery: Face-to-face
Prerequisite: Previous completion of a five-day introductory HSR training course approved by WorkSafe WA
Assessment: There is no formal assessment, but participants are expected to take part in discussions and complete the on-course activities.
During the course, you will review and discuss:
- HSR powers and functions
- issues and challenges faced by HSRs
- recent changes in the WHS landscape
- the WHS legal framework and general duties
- risk management
- consultation and issue resolution
- Provisional Improvement Notices and cease-work directions
- mental health and the role of the HSR.
