Facilitate Level 2 Risk Assessment Course

About the course

This two-day course is designed for those who will be responsible for facilitating Level 2 Risk Assessment Workshops for Rio Tinto.

A Level 2 Risk Assessment is a structured workshop process in which a team identifies risks associated with a project or activity, assesses them for likelihood and consequence, and agrees on suitable control measures – led by a trained facilitator.

Duration: Two days

Delivery: Face-to-face

Certification: This course is non-nationally recognised. Upon successfully completing the course (including post-course activity) you will be recorded as having achieved Rio Tinto qualification: PRH Facilitate Level 2 HSEQ Risk Assessment 31400520.

Pre-requisites: While there are no formal pre-requisite requirements for this course, it is strongly recommended that those attending the course have previously participated in at least one Level 2 Risk Assessment Workshop.

During the course, you will learn about:

  • Rio Tinto’s risk management policy and process framework
  • The situations that trigger a Level 2 Risk Assessment (L2RA)
  • The Rio Tinto Level 2 Risk Assessment Tool
  • How to identify risks using recognised tools
  • How to analyse and rate risks using the Rio Tinto 5×5 risk matrix
  • Applying the hierarchy of control to risk management
  • How to plan, prepare for, and facilitate an effective L2RA workshop
  • Skills for managing group dynamics and encouraging participation during a workshop

Parking

Free all-day parking is available at the rear of our building in Wenberi Lane or in front of the Inglewood Hotel bottle shop. Street parking is also available on Central Avenue, adjacent to Brear Park.

Parking is not permitted in the Inglewood Hotel car park, and fines or other penalties may apply. If parking on Fifth Avenue, please be considerate of our neighbours and avoid parking in the residential area.

Public transport

Training Services Australia is accessible by regular bus services from the city along Beaufort Street. We recommend using the Transperth Journey Planner to plan your trip.

Venue information

Accessibility

Our training centre includes a split-level area with stair access to some rooms. If you have accessibility requirements or require assistance with mobility, please let us know before the course so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Attire

Please wear smart casual clothing suitable for a training environment. Closed-in shoes must be worn. We recommend dressing in layers, as room temperatures can vary.

Catering

Morning and afternoon tea are provided and include tea, coffee and biscuits.

If you have specific dietary requirements, allergies or food preferences, please feel free to bring any additional snacks or drinks you may require.

Lunch is not provided. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase food from a nearby café or supermarket. Refrigerator and microwave facilities are available.

Food and drinks

To help keep our training rooms clean and minimise accidental spills, food must be consumed in the tea room rather than in the training rooms. Water may be taken into the training rooms. Other drinks may only be taken into the training rooms if they are in a spill-resistant keep cup or drink bottle.
